This was my first 3D animation project after starting at Sheridan, completed over five weeks.
The biggest challenge was quickly getting up to speed with software I had never used before—
Maya, Substance Painter, Nuke, and ZBrush
—as someone with no prior 3D background.
Other challenges included, but were not limited to:
rigging the mechanical arm with a simple parent hierarchy,
animating a blooming lotus using instancing,
creating a random shutter effect in the palm of the arm with expressions,
Simulating the motion of one of the small balls,
and sculpting the clouds in ZBrush.
