This was a one-week, full-class collaborative project at Sheridan.
I served as the project lead and director,
and was also responsible for human character animation,
some of the crab’s knife-drawing animation and prop animation.
The main challenge was breaking down the work in a clear, understandable way
and assigning tasks to the most suitable people
—making sure everyone had something meaningful to contribute,
while also keeping the project on track in terms of both quality and deadlines.
The biggest challenge was that none of us were familiar with the full technical workflow from Maya and Substance Painter to Unreal Engine 5,
which cost us a lot of time and communication effort to fully figure out.
Even for a 14-person team, pulling this off in just one week was insane.
As of now, the project has been selected by five film festivals and has won two awards.
